picture order

can someone email or private message me as to how i can get the pics in the galleries to load by date added and decending?? i have to do it evertime for each gallery. it used to do that automaticly, but i don't know where to save changes permanently.

Just below the pics you'll see a set of buttons. press the down arrow on the "Sorted By" button and select "Date Added", click the down arrow on the "Sort Order" button and select "Descending". then click the "Show Images" button. It takes only a couple of seconds to do whichever gallery you are in.

The question of "qmodem" was : how to obtain a new "sort order" (for example date_adding/descending) PERMANENTLY, without to have to choose at each new gallery.

There isn't a way to do it PERMANENTLY as far as i am aware. The software would have to be changed. I tried to help him in case he hadn't seen the buttons.

Try going to your user CP(control panel) at the top of the forum and then go to edit options ----then to Thread Display Options ----I know this works in the forum with threads ----may do the same for the gallery --as the same user CP appears in the gallery ---worth a try anyway

I think you mean permanently and other than the display options at the bottom of each page in the galleries, last post ascending is the default setting.

That's exactly what I mean. For some galleries, it's not too bad, but for some that are 10, 20, 30 pages or more, it's a pain.

like Kevin said you can change it yourself when you view at the bottom of the page ---if we changed the default ---someone else would want it the other way ---that is why each individual can change it themselves as they view

I have a problem similar to qmodem's, though more nitpicky (using Firefox 2.0.0.3). The newest pics in each category load first for me UNLESS someone has posted a response to the pic, in which case it automatically jumps to the very end of the category. Annoying. Is there any way to fix it so that pic order descends from new to old, regardless of whether someone's posted or not? Thanks for any help!

yep I can do all kinds of things like that ---but it will do nothing but slow the site down ----I have a lot of members complaining about the speed of the gallery so I do not want to change the defaults and slow it down

site has problems again. galleries start at 01-16-2005. what happened to the newer pics?
