Airmel:

Thanks for the updates version. Knowing how difficult is can be to to pin down a few of these models IDs, while paling in comparison, does provide a understanding of the monumental task it was to compile and produce a list, such as this. You are to be commended for taking the time to undertake such a project and putting forth the effort. Your lists are greatly appreciated.

It appears that a number of corrections, as well as, new additions have made made to the previous version.

I do have one general question, are all of the IDs confirmed or have you included the most common "known as" for some? I have only scanned the 41 separate listings, and I might be mistaken, but I did noticed that there are some models with IDs that have not been confirmed, or to my knowledge have not been confirmed. Whether you have or not is of little import, when compared to the overall value of you effforts.

Once again, thanks for providing this aid.

When I started the list, perhaps 8 yrs ago, I took a very hard line in that only models with both first and last names and only those for whom that name was "well accepted" by the vintage community were to be included in the list.

Since that time, my list of unknowns has grown every bit as fast as the list of models with legitimate ID's. In trying to move more faces over to list of ID'd models, I have begun to include first name only models when that first name either appeared in print or once again seems to have some acceptance in the community.

To be sure, several of the models in the list have names that are highly unlikely, such as 1940's Joan Blondell/Dagmar, and 1950's June Cleaver and Tana Louise. However those names have been in use by the community for so long and have become more or less acceptable, that I decided to include them.

Now, regarding models with multiple legitimate names... So far, the list only includes one photo per model, so many models' alias names are not yet included. I have agonized over how to deal with this. I don't care to add duplicate faces in order to handle each variation on the model's name. Such a policy could easily triple the number photos in the list.

I am thinking that a spreadsheet might be the best way to go at some time in the future. Along these lines there is also the problem of models which posed with significantly different looks (brunette vs blonde wigs, etc.). It would be nice at some point to include additional photos to support the various looks each model has posed with.

Future thoughts: Either a text file or spreadsheet to cover individual model alias names and perhaps a system indicating the status of the model's ID (verified or not, supported in print or simply assigned by the community). Also, it might be nice to create a list of the unknowns such as is used with known but unidentified Spiderpool models.

I would be very interested in any feedback, corrections or suggestions that the group might like to provide.
