Hi there friends.
As i was going through the gallerys today one thought struck my mind.
Itīs this ongoing talking now and then about whats retro or not, for instance itīs quite a lot of pics uploaded thatīs not from the 50īs,60īs and the 70īs they are rather from the early to late 80īs and that includes some pics from myself also so im no saint in that case either i can give you some examples of what i mean we have a lot of pics whit madames like:Lisa Phillips,Sam Fox,Keli Stewart,Julia Parton,Toni Francis,Patt Wynn,Shelaigh Harrison,Jennifer Eccles etc the list can go on forever.
I think they all are really wonderful and natural madames and the last great ones before the piercing, sillicone boobs and tattos made it all so booring, porno standard and ugly looking.
Mind you all itīs 2006 now and that means that 1986 for instance was 20 years ago,so itīs not so far away to think that the 80īs are becoming retro by now or?Tell me what you think about all this my retrofriends...
Shall we delete all these pics or have a 80īs section on the site or does anyone have some other ideas?
All the best Orvar.

I'm a big fan of Keli and Patt Wynn, never thought about it but you are right in saying they are from post 1980. I consider them retro but not lisa phillips, she was from the 90's wasnt she?

Dear Brother Orvar,
Retro is defined by the owner of this board, Tiger. It is for pics etc. pre 1980 (the only real exception is the "Then and Now" folder). Thats the law of My Archives.Net. Now, how that law is upheld on a day to day basis is another matter....I kill 80's pics but I do my real hunting for dupes and watermarked/www. pics.

I, too, have known sin, Orvar. I had thought that Mishka was a 1970s model; I gather that she is not. I think a few 1980s photographers were so taken with the 1970s "look" that they did shoots intended to appear ten years older.
We have to go with the requirements of the owner of the site, but I can certainly understand how we all make mistakes, me included.

Yes, sir...we all make mistakes, and those mistakes are no crime, not in my eyes anyway or Rabbits or LeSabre's for that matter. The main thing is to enjoy the site...pure and simple.
I have a couple of videos of Mishka, yea, she is a late 80's early 90's babe, out about the same time as Miss Roberta "two tons o fun" Smallwood. I love gazing on Mishka's gargantuan knockers, she is a California home grown girl, thats for sure. Like I said in a thread about her , her videos were basically soft core girl/girl and she looked like she really dug being with a girl, which made the video or the more enjoyable for me.
I will say it now as I have said in the past....the ladies viewed here are great, but meeting like minded friends who enjoy discussing this most basic source of pleasure is even better.

What can we all say ,we're guests at this site.Every day I see 80s & even some early 90s gals posted.I'll take the 5th ammendment on my posts, lol.Like Wing man said its all up to the owner Tiger. But I do agree that 20 years or so is pretty damn retro to me.
It would be a crime for the eyes to delete some of our fringe era girls here ie. Mishka,Stacy O,Julia P.,Sam F.,Tracy West,oh lets not forget West she's the best! The list could go on for a hell of a lot more ladies posted here too.If I could be granted a wish here ,it would be for these gray gals to stay. One thing I don't think is tolerable & thats to see the realy new girls here posted from time to time ie.Milena ,Betty Belhouse &the likes. They're not even close to that great pre 80s era!
BTW Orvar ,I think Jenifer Eccles is definately a 70's girl.I had a few dates in posts of her & they were labled 1979.

Friends one more time---this site is for pre1980 pictures---I keep giving you the option of where to post your post 1980 pictures ---it is another site that Tiger owns----it has a gallery just like this one so it is easy to navigate ---it has no date limit on pictures you can post 2006 pictures there the rules are the same about copyrighted and web addresses on pictures there and you must put a complete date of birth in your profile when you join ----it is primarly a story site but has a gallery for you to store and share your pictures

Orvar,
i share your sentiments exactly, and i hope that Rabbit will not be offended by the observation that this site does have entire sections devoted to post 1980 models, like it or not.
i have recently taken the advice of fellow members to chill out about this matter, and i guess that as long as we don't get the site ruined by silly-cone tits and belly button studs, we should be okay in our ongoing enjoyment.
i'm sure that most of us bona fide enthusiasts don't willfully post modern stuff. and i agree, 1980 sure feels like retro to me (i was 15 then!)
best wishes as ever
Pete

Winger, your avatar torments me!! I've been trying to track down where it was taken and who is the woman between Nika and Candy?? I first saw it a year or so ago in a newsgroup. As far as I know, Nika, Candy and Uschi did one shoot for a magazine and (I speculate) at the same time Candy and Uschi did some hardcore (or, in Uschi's case, simulated). The magazine was published by Parliament in 1977 or 78 titled, "Jog For Sex" and also featured John Holmes...
Of course, as with all classic stuff, I don't have it.

The gal between Nika and Candy is a gal known as Melody aka Betty. She is a red haired beauty who has done hardcore.

Like a douche of ICY water sloshing round our middles - fantasising about pushing back the boundaries of this website holds a big risk, as far as I see it, and that is that the site sponsors might get a little upset if they see the business model which they have agreed to finance getting a little fuzzy around the edges.
Web addresses of other sites (probably competitors) on images could be a real embarrassment when the time comes for the site owners to renegotiate the terms. Gorgeous as the lady might be.

You are more than right ---about the boundaries---a line had to be drawn somewhere---each of us has our own idea what is retro---if the site included the 80s then someone would want to include the 90s because to them that is retro---the decision was made by the owner ---and so far the site has grown to a specialized site of many pictures and alot of good members---
Now I like some 80s pictures and some 2000s pictures hell there are a lot of beautiful women out there to look at. and the owner of the site has not left us out in the cold ---he has provided another site we can upload and view those pictures on--Keeping this site as pure as possible and dedicated to true Vintage and Retro---on this everyone agrees that Pre80s is Retro
As for web addresses on pictures not only does it advertise competitor sites with our sponsors money ---it may well be that that site holds the copyright to the photos they display---if so it could be a sticky legal situation if we display them with out their permission.---and getting permission and keeping up with all the paper work is a nightmare---so it is easier not to accept them.
so keep enjoying this site and visit the other site---I have talked to the administrator over there and he is happy to help out with the problem as the galleries over there are not used much as it is mostly a story site---

This is as good a place to ask as any: When one speaks of "retro" as contrasted with "vintage", what do those terms mean? I have seen them used interchangeably on the web, but I've also seen them used to cover different periods: "Retro" meaning pre-1970 and "vintage" after 1970, or the opposite.
What do those terms mean on this site?

This was decussed early on and you will find some interesting answers in this early thread
