For those that have not realized it by now, I am a compulsive downloader of images. It is part of my ongoing research of vintage and retro photos and related material. I am combining my life long interests in history, photography and art, and of course, women. It is my hope that my efforts can only help in the preservation and sharing of these images. I am trying to gather as much accurate information as possible before it is lost or modified by the revionists. To that end, I am a member of numerous, groups, sites and forums. So, the possibility of finding a new or additional site is always welcome.

This does not reflect any dissatification with My Archives. It is my belief that there is a more than ample material from the period to support multiple competing free sites. Many times this leads to innovation and improvement.

Let me give you a synopsis of what I found. One could spend hours going through the galleries. Literally. Viewing the contents of the folders was extremely time consuming. Tens of thousands of images. Great! Not quite. It was if I dumped the contents of one of my hard drives there. The one that needs to be reviewed. The folders consist of many of the same images that are in their referenced logo folders. IMHO, that is the same as dumping the contents of the individual Playmate folders, into the general Playmate category. The folders contain too many images(over 2700 in one, 4700 in another) Page settings are too small(over 250 and 500, for example). Duplicates, logos, misclassifieds were the order rather than the exception. My observation is based on the 10 folders that I checked at random, four extensively. Logically, it follows that rest of the site are no different. The four folders, that I spent time viewing were exceptionally frustrating. My frustration came from finding one or two pics at random from a set scattered in a folder or from being unable to locate the last one of two pics to a set. Please do not misunderstand, I was able to grab over 500 images that were of value to me. My conclusion is that while the potential is there to be a valuable resource, it in its present form misses the mark. Will I return, yes, but only when I have allowed enough time.

As one of the biggest complainers about the "dumping ground" mega folders here, duplications, the allowed logos, and lack of specific model folders(probably, because I one of the few who ventures in that morass). I feel that I am qualified to make these assessments. I have nothing to gain, by making these criticisms, other than the hope that changes are made there because of these observations.
