An exhibition is opening at the National Gallery London of paintings of early British actresses.
One of the exhibits is a painting of Nell Gwyn - mistress to Charles II - painted by Simon Vereist in about 1680. For most of the subsequent 300 years it has been censored when on public display by various bits of overpainting. Now it is being shown in its full glory:smile:
