OK...from working with Rapidshare over the past week...week and a half, I've noticed that there is a 90 minute 'wait' between downloads on the ''free'' side of Rapidshare; since I can not afford a membership there ( I'm trying to get by on 2 part-time jobs right now ).

But, I was wondering if there were any time limits on the other sites mentioned here, "File Mojo" and...I think it's "Megaload"? If there is...can someone let me know what they are...as I am trying, now that I have a DSL hook-up, to get caught up on all the goodies that my Brothers here at My Archives have been gracious enought to share with us.

Also, I seem to have an issue with Nero Burning program...it seems to only want to burn MPES...and nothing else. Anyone know of a way around that...or know of a program that will allow me to burn AVI files, too?

THANKS!

Hi Shadowwolf
1. rapidshare: I disconnect from the net, delete my temporary internet files, and recent files, reconnect, and download the next file straight away, no problem.
2. nero: I have not had the problem. I use nero 6 with millenium. I would either reload nero, or use a video converter program (there are may free versions on computeractive.com or download.com).

I hope this solves your problems - please let me know.

All the best.

All of the online storage sites do set limits on the free side, both wait and qty. The alternative sites have less traffic and better rates, but just do not have the breath of material RS does. RS may take up to 2 min to load the file and I think 200MB, filemojo is the most liberal with a quick reset in an hr. Even though I have RS, I appreciate it when posters use the alternative site to RS

I tried FU's method and a software program designed to do the same unsuccessfully, then relented and signed up for RS. I hope it works for you.

One unknown fact is that even "Premium" members have limits, 25GB in a 5 day period, sounds like a lot and it is until you start downloading movies at a gig each. Or consider the size and number of PhD's and Mush's posts. It adds up quickly. Have a download problem with a film's file or lose connection and that 1 gig is suddenly 2-3. RS and I have battled over that especially the day that (2) 15 part movies took 3 downloads to complete.

Good Luck

You must get a new IP address every time you disconnect and re-connect.

Thanks to both of you, F U and Rainman_927, for your imput.

As soon as I learn how to do what you suggest, F U, I'll try it.

And, as soon as I get a REAL job ( working part-time at McDonalds and Long John Silvers ), I think Rainman_927 is right...I need to join a file sharing site. Main problem is finding the money...tighter than a vigin's butt right now!:frown:
