Thanks again for sharing Mush. The quality of the images and women are wonderful. Marks photos are reflective of the standards and practices that were allowed by British during the 50s-60s. The so called "classical" style. This style that required airbrushing or other photographic retouching techniques gives the photos a surreal or unnatural quality. Not necessarily a "bad" thing. Marks' work had to comply with the law and we are fortunate they have survived and to have them. It enabled him to create Kamera and provide us with images of models from the period that would not exist and that we cherish today. One can only wonder what happened to the "unretouched" negatives, would it not be fantastic to see the prints that they would have produced?

KAMERA No. 40 by Harrison Marks
Thank you so much, Mushashi. There's a special place in my heart for Kamera, because it was the very first girly magazine I ever bought for myself. It was issue 47, in 1962, from a stall on the Sunday market in the city where I lived. And every week from then on I bought a magazine full of nude women there. There was a hell of a lot of choice in those days. If only I still had them.

As it happens, my favourite shot from Kamera 40 -- page 34 -- was damaged (jam, glue, honey, DNA, who knows), so I've removed some dust and "enhanced" it a bit for my own enjoyment, and I might as well share it . . .
