Considering the high level of dedication most of us put into this site and cataloging retro (and in some case current) images of the female form, I was wondering where it all started for some of you? What was your first contact with the nude female form in print or film?
For me it was finding a souvenir glossy fold-out called "Hawaii's Beauties" in my dad's junk in the attic. His buddy who lives in Hawaii had sent it to him. Had a dozen polynesian, japanese and white gals in different tropical and beach settings.
I was probably 9 or 10.

I was in the boy scouts, at the age of 11 or 12. We used to have paper drives and after all the papers were collected the scoutmaster would haul us down to the paper plant to get money for the scrap paper. Inside this huge facility was all manner of magazines lying around, and we all found hug batches of late 60's pinup mags like Gem, Sir!, MR. etc. We smuggled them out and headed for home and our locked rooms as fast as our hard little peckers would let us. One of my first loves was Dean Ackerlund, I would gaze at her beautiful face and body for hours!

I grew up in a small college town northwest of Cincinnati. The 1st nude I saw was in an art book in the university library. If I remember correctly, it didn't make a major impression because of my age. But it probably helped form my beliefs concerning human body and nudity. I believe that was about 1956 or 57, when I was 10 or 11.

It was about the same time and age for me. All of the adult men in my family had been in WW II and after the war there were a whole crop of "men at war" magazines. The only one whose name I remember was "True", but all of them had a habit of publishing stories that involved young women who just couldn't seem to keep their clothes on. I know that "True" did a multi-page spread of some poor young lady who thought she was alone on a beach, so she shed her clothes...
I found literature much more interesting after that.

In 1967 I found an October 66 Playboy my Dad had hidden. Linda Moon's centerfold shot introduced me to nude women in print.

Hi folks,
I'm new here, but couldn't resist adding to this thread.
For me it was Marilyn Lange. I found the playboy with her in it in my grandfather's garage (I was raised by my grandparents mostly). I was stunned. I had never seen a woman like her, and she has since become one of my top five favorite classic models.

I grew up in a country that banned all magazines that contain nudity. i was fortunate that that a couple of playboy magazines did find it to our shores. These magazines had great pictures of women and articles in them.

Cool thread!
OK. So now we change the brand:
For me it's been Penthouse magazine.
I found a stack of'em - rather I should say they found me / I was drawn towards them in the basement.
Can't quite remember, must have been 80s issues. I remember a comic on the last pages. I think they were my uncles...
Ah, the memories, the revelations...

It was 1979 and I was 8. I went to a friends house and when I got to his room, he pushed his bed against the door and said 'look at this'. It was his Dad's 'Men Only' magazine. The first naked woman I saw was Mary Millington. I'm still a fan now and bought the recent biog book that came out here in the UK. I guess she's why I still love platform boots. blue eye shadow and a hairy minge!

For me, it was a stash of early 60's girly magazine my dad had in our basement. Titles such as Modern Man, Adam, Frolic, Gala and others. It introduced me to such beauties as June Palmer, Judy Treadway, Gaby Ryke, Vicky Kennedy, Ann Austin, Eve Eden and so many others.

Great thread...
Walking home from the movies on Saturday afternoons I'd loop around by the ice house which had a small store attached (early convenience store) one would actually buy ice by the block there. Anyway in the corner there were shelves with loaded with magazines like Men Only, True, True Detective and the like. WOW---what a discovery for 10+/- year old student from an all boys' Catholic School. Ive been a student of the form ever since
Hi everyone, Rand here, first post and all. I remember very well the first time I saw a nude woman in print. I was at my cousin's house, he was several years older, about to start college, and he had an old typewriter case full of magazines like Gallery, Velvet and Swank. The model was named Blue Bird, a beautiful brunette.
The first woman I ever saw nude on film was Kitten Natividad performing a masturbation scene with a very old fashioned vibrator.
By the way, great Kitten section.
Take it easy.

Reading through the posts here and it's surprising how many times the first experience was from "finding" a mag - let's not kid ourselves here - there are very powerful forces at work - consider how many times the "one ring to rule them all" was found
It wanted to be found - the exact same thing
Old swampy half construction area frequented at night by shifty people and young fornicators in cars - by day used prophelactics and dirty magazines - BINGO! Modern Sunbather with Diane Webber on the cover - nice!
This thread got me thinking about all the covert methods I and my friends used to employ to hide our girlie mags. My friend, whose dad owned a salvage yard, used to roll his copies of Hustler up and hide them in the tail pipes of old cars. Several of my friends spent an entire summer afternoon digging a hole in the woods behind their houses, then built a box and covered it with old pine straw. Personally, I kept mine in the small opening beneath the bottom drawers of my dresser.

Hi
I’m doing some research for a BBC documentary about ‘adult entertainment’ and it’s growing popularity and availability in the UK. I’m looking for people who are finding that they spend more time than they’d like to looking at porn on the internet. If you feel this is you and that it’s beginning to create problems in your life we’d really like to hear from you. If you’re interested in having an initial chat and finding out more about our project please email contributors@programmemakers.com.

My first reaction to reading this was someone was pulling a practical joke. Posting a request such as yours here, did not make sense. Then again, anything could be possible.
Excuse me, "Ms. Nicholls" your "slip" is showing. In this case, your "slip" is your bias. Limiting the database in this manner, you "beg the question". That is, you already have reached a conclusion and now you are looking for evidence to support it. This type of research and methodology has limited value. Hardly what one would expect from the BBC. But again, with viewers choosing alternatives, the BBC might this to retain and attract a larger market share.
I can see the pre airing hype. The evils of the internet exposed! How pornography ruins people's lives! (the 5 part series, only on the BBC) It may bring viewers to the BBC because the topic of sex has and always will. It more than likely may attach some of the internet surfers to the BBC. It may even be aired here.
Well, one can only hope that when the inevitable questions and scrutiny comes, that the facts about the research are disclosed. If, they are then, as many articles and programs of the past have been, it will exposed for what it is, and discredited.
I would suggest before you either put yourself and the BBC through such an embarassment, that you give thought to the methods of your research.

My sentiments exactly, Rainman.
My first thought was, and I offer this in case Ms Nicholls wants to do a less biased documentary: No thanks, I find that I spend precisely the correct amount of time looking at porn on the internet. First, I don't consider this site to be porn. Second, I spend far too much time cleaning spam out of my email box.

I was out with my bike riding friends all about 8 years old and we would ride by the train tracks. We found an unattached trailer opened it and it was full of adult mags. Being the first time we saw the female form and seeing what you could do with it IN PRINT. We all talked about it and really tried to understand exactly what we saw. This has lead to a life of collecting mags I have over 10,000 and still trying to understand what I first saw. The ironic thing about it was it was behind the church that I would attend.

In Australia in 1954, just about the nearest thing to porn was 'Sun' (nudist) magazine. My mate gave me a copy, and I leaned to masturbate to it (with his instruction) in double quick time.
It was a mess by the time I threw it away, I could not separate the pages.

To put it another way:
This site is the reason why I don't spend too much time on the internet looking for erotic stuff... ;) ;) ;)

Hello everybody...I must say that this is a very good thread. When I was about 11/12 yrs old...back in 1982 I was in my cousins house and we sneaked into his fathers spare bedroom and we just started rummaging around and we found a briefcase that was have open, and when we looked into it we saw a copy of Whitehouse with Mary Millington on the cover and we saw a copy of Play Dames...and ever since then I love "Big Knickers" and Hairy women! We also found a copy of Janus......"Schoolgirl Knickers/Spanking"...and I've always had a thing about arse's...so I got instant wood! lol

Being raised as a strict Baptist by my parents, there was no "nudie" magazines in my house. Then when I was about 14 yrs.old, a new kid moved to the neigborhood and we started to hang out together. I went to his house for the first time and in the sun porch of his house, there was a stack of B&W mens magazines just laying there. That is where I first saw Betty Page, Donna Brown, and a lot of other lovely ladies and I have not been the same since then.LOL

I was 9 or 10 when i went into dad's sock drawer. Playboy, Penthouse and OUI were the old man's favorites. I discovered Bettie Page 1996 and she is my all time favorite pin-up.

As we age, we grasp memories with an iron fist. Yet, while young we do what we can to forget them.
Awesome post...
Oh, my first time... rather embarrassed to share it. My older sister (by 3 years) invited me into her room to share some "comics' she had. I, being the youthful age of 9, sat on the floor in her room and she had a stack of comics (so I thought). The first was an "old" Batman I had read, so I discarded that one and the second was a smaller sized magazine with an image of a nude woman holding a beach ball over her head like she had just caught it. I really didn't think much of it (9yo) and discarded it with the Batman comic. My sister told me that I had to "study" the "naked book" so I could be a dad. Never did find out where it came from, and never looked inside it. I have mentioned this to my sister years later and she couldn't remember where it came from or where it went, but we had a heck of a laugh about it.
Thank you,

Nice story, putzmanship.
I was raised very decent, and first met with nude magazines when I was about 13/14 years of age. A schoolfriend of mine had an older brother with lots of mags in his chests of drawers. It was the nineties, the Silicone Age, and I fell in love desperately with Tiffany Towers.
Other ladies I kept in mind while I was back home and lying in my bed were f.i. Letha Weapons and Traci Topps, and also some natural stunners like Jeannine Oldfield and Georgina Lempin.
When I grew older I realized that I was irreversible drawn to voluptuous ladies to stimulate my fantasies (in real life I like all women ).
But now I prefer the naturals much more. And in the meantime I also discoverd some vintage stars from much earlier times.
That's why I registered here, I guess.

Males are more motivated by things they see, especially when it comes to sex. Show a heterosexual man a naked woman and you command his attention (at least briefly).
That's WHY sex sells.
Women are not as motivated by male nudity, in fact many are repulsed by it. Women are motivated by more internal stimulation, like plot, romance; it's not enough just to show them a naked man, they need to be engaged in the material surrounding it. Therefore you appeal to the most common denominator: Men, who are easy to get if you just show them some skin.

I was about nine years old. My best friend's father had a bar in the basement of their house and he had the attached nude pinup on display there. I couldn't take my eyes off the picture (in large part since my mother had always said that sort of stuff was a big taboo). Ever since I've been a fan of the nude female form...especially old time tasteful, artistic representations.
Which is why I love this site!!!

Males are more motivated by things they see, especially when it comes to sex. Show a heterosexual man a naked woman and you command his attention (at least briefly).
In western society, you can show any human being another naked human being and you command his/her attention (at least briefly).
I think that's because it's not 'normal' routine to see other people naked very often.
That's WHY sex sells.
Yes, that's possible (among other reasons, I think).
Women are not as motivated by male nudity, in fact many are repulsed by it. Women are motivated by more internal stimulation, like plot, romance; it's not enough just to show them a naked man, they need to be engaged in the material surrounding it.
I am a man, and I can get repulsed by some female nudity. :frown:
When I get aroused by adult pics or clips, then not only my cute little friend is stimulated and working, but my fantasy also. This fantasy I use for internal stimulation, like a fantasized plot and/or romance.
Only a nude women doesn't do the trick
for me and my dearest dick.
Maybe men are more capable of fantasize and making up plots about sex, whilst watching pics or clips where other people play their 'games'?
Therefore you appeal to the most common denominator: Men, who are easy to get if you just show them some skin.
I can watch a beautiful nude picture of a beautiful/lovely/cute/attractive female and not get aroused. In my personal life I have experienced that I am not easy to get if a woman just shows me some skin.
What should I do?
See a doctor?

Health and Efficiency - early 1960's. What a disappointment. Still can't cope with seeing naked men with my female idols.
But for ladies WITH clothes - the hollywood musicals put on TV when they moved away from black and white. Velvet figure hugging dresses, long gloves and that sort of thing.
More interesting was the written word - Lady Chatterley, Henry Miller (Nexus, Sexus etc), Portnoy's Complaint - read Portnoy while the radio played Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue so that music always evokes the unexpected for me, Willie always pays attention. Same with some Bach organ concertos(!)
I found (and find) the harder porn fails to meet my "jolly naughty but nice" needs - so that's why I'm such a fan of this site, seeing so much more of my 1960's delights and some of the earlier stuff harking back to the Hollywood musicals that gave me so much pleasure as a teenager.
Good thread.

I was about 9/10 years old when some school mates and I found an old "health and Efficiency". It was the first naked female form i had seen but I was very puzzled as at that time the pussies were all airbrushed/hidden behind trees etc!. Maybe that is why I like to look at pussies so much now!

Round about 1963, at the park, which was in a pre fabricated house area, built after the war. The guy who looked after the swings etc, Billy Tin Whistle. Must of been i his early thirties, with the brain of a teenager, a bit retarded.
To cut a long story short a bunch of lads where fooling on the round-about with a squad of girls. Billy shot out of his shed blowing the whistle. My friend and I got into his shed and locked the door. Behind the coke fire was a locker, we got open. Billys stash of Parades ect where in the tin box. I will always remember this centre page buxom blonde. Couldn't take my eyes off her breasts !
Still today a sucker for busty blondes. I guess nothing much has changed in that area.
Now now...let's be honest here....the first time we saw a female breast was probably in National Geographic!

For me. When I was serving me time (apprenticeship not jail) Monique Devereaux in an advert in Fiesta magazine inside the cover for a Harrison Marks 8mm film called The Wonder Bed, total all over female nudity and then I got to read the mag. More pulchritude than a 16 year old's mind could handle!!!!

The very first time, all I saw was a cartoon, and I (this is true), took it to my Mom. I had NO clue. The second time was some years later. We had a little clubhouse type structure, and my friend and I hung out there with a couple of neighborhood girls. But when I saw an adult magazine and opened its pages, I was awe-struck. The first nude photograph I saw was an ad for subscribing. It said, "order me and get one free". The girl was standing there looking so seductive. She had long blonde hair, but jet black pubic hair. I was enchanted and entranced. I never forgot it. How I'd love to see that ad again!

Way, way back there, I had a friend whose father had a collection of Playboy mags cleverly (yeah, right) hidden in a basement closet. These were vintage 1950's Playboys, so my initiation to the nude female form included Marilyn Monroe, Janet Pilgrim, Dawn Richard, etc. I can still remember the scary/exciting feeling of quickly paging through those forbidden mags before some adult started down the stairs. Before he shared his old man's treasure trove with me, I didn't hang around this kid all that much. Afterward, I did my best to make him my very best friend.

As far as film goes, I've been watching a documentary on Monty Python and I was reminded of the film spot from the 1st series, "The Dull Life of a City Stockbroker." At one point in the film the stockbroker goes into a news shop to buy a paper and the girl behind the counter is a very pretty blonde with no clothes on. When I first saw that uncensored on the local PBS station, I was probably 12 or 13. Ah, good times.

Yes, National Geographic was a typical first nude, but those large Art books that my parents [for some reason] kept around provided me with my first nudes somewhere around 10.
The one that has never left my mind is Thomas Hart Benton's Pheresphone!

I may change my icon it still affects me so much. I feel just like that guy and it is true of life, you have to hide and peer, 'cause few want to admit they understand, male or female. She can reveal herself, and a beauteous self at that, to nature but is not capable of exposing her sexuality to a man.
Oh, wait, that is my wife. Hmmm.

My first time getting exposed to porn was when i was 13(may be).
A boy lived next to my house and he had a vcr.
we had gone for a marriage reception that afternoon together. we finished lunch fast and reached home early. he called me over and popped a tape in that vcr.
i still remember the movies name. It was "Forbidden Fruit"
Seeing those scenes, my jaw dropped to the floor.
And the door bell rang..........
We barely managed to get the Tape out of vcr in time and tuck it under the bed. and I fled to my house as fast as i can...
he he he he he............
