First the good news: Found this a couple of days ago. Don't know her, and it's a very short clip - but still nice.

The bad news: My big hard disc won't boot - the one with tons of video on it.
Kernel32.dll missing. Its a laptop so many options are out. Any experts out there?

very nice full figured body, the kind I like... given the arm pit hair I'd say European, but what do I know...
@ chegny.
It might be the worst thing that can happen. A harddrive that is starting to getting bad sectors on it, which eventually will lead to a harddrive failure. I have tried something very similar a couple of times... :frown:
Solution is a new harddrive and reinstalling the OS and find a way to try to save the data on the old harddrive...

Geez guys, thanks for the input, but I'm pretty good with these things.
Upon boot, I can only get the BSOD so there is no way to download anything, no way to run any rescue apps, etc. Basically, I am shut out of my own hard drive.
No F8 options will do anything, changed the BIOS settings to boot from CD and it still tries to boot from Windows. I'll figure it out - I hope. There was still a ton of stuff on that drive that I hadn't shared yet.
A lot of it is backed up on a local desktop, but I'm usually too lazy to get off the couch and run that machine.

I have had good luck of retriving files on a harddrive by buying a harddrive case from Ebay, then using it as a usb drive.

Sorry to hear about your hard disc - but it can happen to CDs as well as I found out to my cost with 8 of them so nothing is safe for archiving.
The 'model' is Gee Wizz she is in the pre 1980s gallery.

Thanks George,
That's where I was headed. I will attempt to use this hard drive (the good one - that I'm on right now) with an external drive connected via USB and determine what I can see on the infected HDD. They are all there - the files and operating system that is - I can see them when I try to safe-boot.
It's just that with laptops you are not able to change hard drives at will. Microsoft (the arrogant pricks that they are) monitors your motherboard, hard drive, etc. If they sense any major change in hardware they identify the OS as being used illegally and shut you down. The only way is to format the disk and rebuild from scratch.
I think anyway, if anyone knows better, please enlighten me.
Thanks all - for your sympathy and advice,
Jerry

I've had a number of problems with various .dll files missing. I've always managed to solve them by downloading the file from http://www.dll-files.com/ and following their instructions.
Good luck

There are thousands of experts out there: it's getting in touch that's the problem. Luckily they are often willing to help so try:

Join the support forum(free) and ask your questions!! Whoops!! This the same as my earlier exhortation to try Majorgeeks - I just didn't read the whole thread. I guess I need reading lessons or more hours in my day

Again, thanks for all the advice. I had picked up some new virus that deleted the kernel32.dll files and replaced them with something very simillar (kernel32.DL files - if I recall correctly). A program called Super Anti Spyware found and removed the active bug. But the real ones were gone. Luckily, I was able to cram the real kernel32.dll's back in from another Windows XP disc. Everything is back to normal.
PS That Super AntiSpyware is amazing - fast and thorough! Free - check it out.
