Tony Quinn's magforum dot com has a ton of information about British magazines, including large sections on the ups and downs of so-called "ladmag" publishing in the UK going back at least 50 years. He notes that the site confines itself to non-pornographic publications. He also appears to be open to e-mail inquiries. I don't know how accurate his information is, but he writes well and he seems to have all the dots connected.

This is interesting, mjello.
Could we not do with a porn mag equivalent (as opposed to a mag sale site)?
Or is there one (or more) already in existence?

ThatOtherForum (VEF) has been working hard, for years, to document the contents of the vintage porn mags put out by (cough) and (mumble). Their work on other porn publications is more scattershot, but it continues apace. Many of the scans uploaded to TOF have been rounded up and posted to usenet. A binsearch for 4Fun in alt.binaries.erotica should be enough. You'll need to go back to February to find all of them. It's a very large pile, tens of thousands of mostly medium-res full-page scans.

Thanks, mjello.
It's nice to know that TOF don't spend ALL their time banning people from their forum and then giving no reason for them having done so.

> banning people
The way it was explained to me is that 1) accounts get deactivated after x amount of time with no posts and 2) anything the moderators consider disruptive, esp. personal attacks, is actionable.

Thanks again, mjello.
It's nice to know that TOF moderators do actually take the time to explain themselves to at least some account holders.

I'm working on putting together one enormous resource for US newsstand mags. (glossies too but newsies first)
Geez this is a project. If I could afford it I'd hire some help.
