The Outlaw(1943)
Howard Hughes' controversial Western drama, a loose retelling of the story of gunslinger Billy the Kid and lawman Pat Garrett, is best remembered now as the screen debut of Jane Russell (whose natural attributes were emphasized by producer-director Hughes).

"The French Line" was pretty damn hot as well.

Much enjoyed ... much enjoyed.

I gather the censors were left warm under the collar by several scenes but they didn't cut them out.

You are right Delighted the movie "The French Line" was one of the most censored of its time in the US and considering that it was a musical romance that's quite something.

Part of the problem were Jane's costumes and also the musical routines, one in particular song Lookin' For Trouble caused most offense as far as the censors where concerned. At one point Jane was supposed to wear a bikini style costume. (see picture below) but ended up still wearing a pretty revealing outfit, (see picture below).

This movie is probably my favorite Jane Russell movie.

Here is a clip of the Lookin' For Trouble song and dance.

According to her autobiography (My Path and My Detours), Ms. Russell flatly refused to wear the two-piece outfit originally proposed for her song-and-dance number in The French Line. That was a good decision, in my opinion, and for reasons other than her personal modesty. The two-piece outfit was just plain ugly, and as far as sexy is concerned, it wasn't a patch on the costume she wound up wearing. Howard Hughes must have been a bit wary after the controversy over The Outlaw, because while her Looking for Trouble scene was left in the movie (which was originally shot in 3-D), it was shot without close-ups and from such a distance that its impact was negligible compared to the publicity stills of her in that one-piece costume with the trefoil cutout over the midriff. Nonetheless, there was controversy over that costume. I believe the Catholic Legion of Decency condemned it and the movie. Jane says (again in her autobio) that Hughes promised her afterwards that she'd never again have to face any heat over costuming in any movie she made for him. There are numerous other publicity stills of her in that costume in various poses, and they're easy to find on the internet just by searching on her name. Note that she's wearing opera gloves. That should give you a head start on finding a big collection of them. 'Nuff said.

I'm just the same as there is something so damn erotic about watching that pair of large firm boobs almost popping out and still can not watch it without feeling turned on, and so is no wonder that even though i may have a very sexy and horny wife that i (any many others on her pick-up nights:cool:) enjoy having everyway i can that i still can't get enough of my screw-on-side, as she might be a lot older the bev but whenever she has on something that lets those big jugs of hers do just the same it's hot as hell!!

I met her when she was married to high school sweetheart and eventually Rams coach Bob Waterfield. He was a good friend of my father and appeared with Jane at BBQs. They lived in 1000Oaks. Ironically, she taught Sunday school at her church. She was better looking in person without all the layers of make up. Did she have any kids? - I cannot remember.

The other dance number in that movie is pretty hot too. The chubby little babe she is partnered with is even bustier and bouncier than Jane.

Jane Russell was a very attractive, well endowed babe. I really find it difficult to admit, but she couldn't act. If anyone gets a chance to view her movies they will see what I mean. Let's face it Sinatra and Arnold couldn't act either.
