View Full Version : The Name Game

I firmly believe that many models did not use their real name when posing, or at least the magazines most of the time gave them different names. Two cases in point:
Early in her career a certain huge breasted brunette went by the name of Dani Fabroso for the longest time, then it was switched to Mary "Cher" Waters.
And another:
In one Gent magazine there were two layouts of the same girl. The first was of Arlene Bell going by that name and the second layout, later in the mag, had another set of pics of Arlene where she looked decidely Latino and was called Maria.
Cruising Ebay today, there is a batch of pics from Yesterdays Girls, take a look sometime, there are names for some of our favorites that are totally out of left field, could these be the real names? Quite the riddle of the ages.

If this were to receive government funding for a research project I'm sure there would be no shortage of teenage students queueing to join the team - collecting, collating and analysing piles of girlie mags.
I'm no techie but it'd be quite an interesting data structure and would need some very clear thinking, without any distractions.
So that would never work, then.
Nice essay, winger.

Good topic, winger. Some girls who posed in the 1970s used their own names, but got "new" names from various magazine editors who felt it was necessary to write some prose, usually about how the model was posing to save up money for college or breast reduction, neither being true.

And regarding the specific example you brought up, "Dani Fabrosa" was a name invented by Arv Miller at Fling Magazine. Arv often made up names for specific models. He always referred to Roberta Pedon as "Melody O'Hare" which, by odd coincidence, was the name of a close friend of hers in school.
The name "Mary Waters" mom gave her was, and still is, Beverly. She has three adult children and eight grandchildren, and is now 52 years old.

Charlie,
Speaking with you is like "shaking the hand that shook the hand" as you seem to have a great deal of knowledge of some of the women we admire. Hard to imagine "Beverly" at 52 but am sure she is still quite beautiful. There is a yahoo group dedicated to her where the moderator has great insight into "Bev" and relates a ton of stories about her posing sessions and subsequent sexual romps with the photographer, real cool stuff to read.
Like the Star Trek conventions and the like, I have always felt that if some of these "golden gals" could ever be persuaded to hit the road and meet and greet their adoring public they could make some much deserved income after having their pics circulating for free here on the web. I would gladly pay to meet them and receive autographs as I am sure others would. The taboo of being an adult star is long in the past and girls like "Beverly", Dean etc would be treated with respect for the art form they helped create.

It strikes me that a lady with too many names is in a much better position than one with no name. We can search on one or more of her names to find her.
Otherwise we are stuck.
For the purpose of indexing our unknown ladies could we adopt a convention such as that used in the art world - call them by an attribute or something?
Then if later someone comes up with a lady's name it will be straightforward to search out all her identified pics and add her name?
For example one girl has the attribute "perky" attached already. Another retro lady has a tight dark hairstyle in all her photographs.
Particularly tantalising is the spiderpool lady with a very wide sexy mouth who no-one can name so far, other than saying she is not.......Tomerlin.
Any objection if I were to make a start on this, as and when? Obviously we'd have to have some consistency!

Now if we could continue this game---by members going thru say the "Big Tit" category and posting a link to a picture without a name ---and naming her---then maybe a Mod could go back and edit the Pic and put a name on her. Might make things easier for other members to search for Pics
Just a thought:ra

Winger...I agree with you in general on this matter about them going on the road; and signing autographs and the like. I'd gladly pay $5-- to have someone like Candy Samples sign a b/w picture of Herself for me.
But...having talked to one or two of the ladies in the adult video field today, what I gather is that they'd rather not be seen out 'pressing the flesh' in the future. One ( 'Stacy Vaughn' ) made the statement that once She had enuff cash in the bank, She was gonna open up an antique shoppe...and try to forget she ever had to 'do the dirty' on tape...even getting facial surgery if She had to.
You've got a great idea here, don't get me wrong. But, is it a viable one? I wonder...?
