View Full Version : Ann Austin or Anita Ventura?
I really like to show my admiration for particular models, so it's disturbing when I find I can't tell some women apart! And I'm the one who keeps telling people they ought to identify all their models!
For a long time I could not tell Ann Austin, Anita Ventura, and Jackie Miller apart. Over time I learned to tell Jackie from the others (placement of certain facial moles, an intense, almost menacing gaze, and at 5'11" a taller body) but I still had trouble telling Ann and Anita apart.
I think I can tell the difference, now. Ann has softer features, while Anita has sharper eyebrows, a sharper gaze, and her hair is longer, below the shoulders, with a left-to-right part and what on a male might be called a cowlick.
I'm learning.
Interesting that you mention Ann Austin. She really is beautiful and is one of my favorites. I've seen pictures tagged as "June Wilkinson" but which I think are really Ann Austin so there must be some confusion, although I don't think they are look alikes. It's probably the b/w photography and the posing.
As a digression, June Palmer is also a beautiful woman but there's one picture of her in the archives that strikes me as extremely unattractive ( http://www.myarchives.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=85353&c=17). Anyone else agree? Just goes to show the power of the photographer or is it just the subjectivity of the viewer.

I find it one of life's great mysteries seeing a photograph for the first time then wondering what on earth was so glorious about it after all, on second viewing.
It must be just a flush of hormones.

I really think you are being a bit hard on yourself WDD, anyone who can pick the mis-id'd Playboy Playmates and sort out their proper names is doing pretty good! I would say that it all boils down to the individual members area of expertise - for want of a better word. You probably have the ability to pick out your favourites from a page of thumbnails - the way the brain is wired i suppose.

I agree, she looks almost like Annie Sprinkle

I notice that some of my message is censored. I've reconstructed which words have been asterisked out, and they're definitely not swear words, or words that would betray a confidence. I suspect that the software behind these frames is geared to recognize key words that turn up often in unsolicited advertising or Spam. It leads to some rather strange-looking posts.

Yes, the three letter word for - at this moment and the opposite of left - are strange ones to target.
Well, I'll do something about it r·i·g·h·t n·o·w.

Part of the enjoyment for me is discovering the models for the first time and then trying to distinguish them apart.

Not subjective, quite bad. She modeled for a long time I think, and even she aged, consequently that's not the only bad picture of her posted here. Maybe no one would suggest to her to leave well enough alone. So goes my theory. She was such an exceptional model, the best ever in my opinion, I'd prefer that those "late June Palmer" pics were banished. On the other hand her body was still up there......

There are some photos of Jackie from her later period (during which she was quite a bit thinner) that almost don't look like her, either. I'm still looking for her full n*des, if any do exist, as well as ones of her smiling. That smile of hers is a real winner.
