I have a movie where Diane Webber has a soft-core lesbian scene and I would like to post it here but I don't know how to make the clip. Anybody know how? Thanks.

You need an application like ISO Buster. A DVD is an image (ISO) file and needs to be converted somehow before it can be broken up and then converted again into an MPG, wmv or whatever type of video format you like.

I have done it before - and IIRC it takes forever (and uses some serious disc space).

When I produced (my first attempt at it) a clip from a DVD, I converted the .vob file containing the extract I wanted to .avi using Quick Media Converter and then extracted the relevant clip as a .wmv using Windows Movie Maker. It produced a very reasonable 4 minute clip of 30.5MB size.

I did it this way as I already had the 2 programmes mentioned, one being a freebie and one being part of Windows.

If you can find a copy of DVD Decrypter, it will convert the VOB files to AVI and then you can use something like AVI Demux to trim the clip to the size you want.

Having a Camcorder, I use Pinnacle for that, so, using this it's easy.

It's not a free option, but Pinnacle Stusdio will rip the Titles from the disc and then you can play around with it to your hearts content. If the DVD has been broken into chapters, this saves having to rip the whole thing, you can select individual chapters. Of course it will do VHS tapes as well if you have a device to connect to the PC.

Once extracted, you can then trim it down to the required scene(s) and export it as an AVI/MPEG/WMV file and resize it if you wish.

Alternatively, you could use UltraISO (free trial) to extract the DVD Video file(s) and then use Movie Maker/Media Coder (both free) or whatever else to get the clips you want.

The best solutions tend to cost a little cash, but there are probably other free NLE programs out there that you could try.
